I want to be union president. I want to make a difference in the daily lives of my colleagues. I want to impact the educational experience of students in our district. I want the union to be proactive in supporting teachers as professionals. I want the union to take a leadership role in professional development. I want the union to work with business leaders to highlight the importance of teachers to the community. I want the union to be seen as a place for support, guidance, and inspiration. The current union administration has done a fine job but what more could they be doing with different leadership? What avenues and opportunities have been missed by not having new insight in the union? If you are looking for a change, if you are looking for some new energy then I, Kennith Harris, am the person you want as your union president.
