Science/Social Studies/Technology Rotations We will be working with the other two first grade classes to maximize our instructional time. Mondays and Fridays we will be rotating between the three classes with myself teaching technology, Mrs. Calek teaching science and Ms. Cullen teaching social studies. In science the students will focus on Earth, Life and Physical sciences as well as the scientific process. Our goal is to give the students the tools necessary to ask and answer questions. In social studies, our goal is to give students an understanding, appreciation and a sense of responsibility for the world in which they live as well as teach them more about themselves, their community and the world. We will examine our families and cultures as well as the people and places of other families and cultures. We will also explore the impact that each individual can have on her or his environment. Our goal is to help your child develop into a kind and responsible citizen of a global society. In technology, our goal is to have students gain knowledge about the computer and how it can assist to learn. Being comfortable with the keyboard and knowledge of basic computer skills are our goals. |
